Is there a way to delete multiple tasks at one time?

Thread needs solution

My "Task List" often contains 30 to 50 tasks when I'm doing things other than automated daily backups. I have not found any way to delete many task at one time. I have not found a way to cleanup the task list other than deleting each task individually. Deleting each task requires 3 mouse clicks. Cleaning a task list with many entries can take quite a long time. To delete multiple tasks, I have tried the usual Windows' methods that include clicking on each task while holding down the control key followed by the command to delete as well as the method where I highlight one task and hold the shift key down while I highlight the last task to delete. Neither has worked for me.

Is there a way to delete at one time?

There are several ways this can be done. If you should really screw up, the worst thing would be that you would have to rebuild the scripts you wanted to keep. But if you are careful, there is little to no risk.

Close TrueImage (if open). Do a files search for the Scripts folder located inside the Arconis install location. The folder is located in different areas, depending upon what operating system you are using. Inside the scripts folder is a listing of all the Acronis scripts otherwise known as tasks. The files inside the scripts folder will have names similar to this example--all ending in .tib.tis B31C7441-5EA6-41D1-BA24-74D89A8E92BB.tib.tis

1. I would rename the Scripts folder maybe by putting a couple xx before or after the name.
2. Create a new empty folder named Scripts to replace the old one.
3. In the old renamed scripts folder sort the listing by toggling the Date Created or Date Modified column.
This sorting should cause all the most recently used ones to be in date order-either the bottom or the top.
Now highlite the most recently used and move or copy this group into the current empty scripts folder.
When you are done, inside the new scripts folder you should have only the ones you wanted to retain.
Keep the old folder until you decide whether it can be deleted. You can shift the contents of the folder as needed.

Once you reopen the TrueImage program, click once on any of the listed tasks and the deleted group will disappear from the tasks listing.

This may or may not be an approved Acronis method but it does work.

Addendum:
If you experience any unusual behavior having had that many tasks, then it might be beneficial if you were to perform the instructions listed in this link.

But this should only be necessary if your tasks are not being completed as planned.
This will either clear all the tasks or move them into an unscheduled column. Afterward, you could perform the same steps above to keep or retain whatever scripts you want.

Thank you so much for the information you supplied. Apparently I did not search far enough to find the tasks using my file manager. Now that I know task are nonsense syllables arranged in a particular folder, the job will be much easier.

You mentioned one condition that is "task not running to completion". In the present list of tasks, I have some task that completed perfectly normally and others that started and restarted but never did complete. I never have gotten an error message.

I followed the link that you provided and read the post. The post seem to be related to "scheduling" rather than "tasks". It may not make a difference and I will try this method before I use file manager to delete the multiple task that I no longer want or need. Had I been getting the error message that you listed, I would assume a corrupt scheduler file and reduce method number two with the script file listed.

Thanks again I'm not sure that I could've worked this one out by myself without having the same knowledge that you possess concerning the mechanics of Acronis True Image. It's been a long time since I've visited this forum and I see that I've probably missed out on some interesting and helpful details. I will try to remedy that.

Mistakes are possible since I must use a dictation program for all that I do on the computer. The program often makes mistakes that I miss.
