TI 2009 can't mount image on XP

Thread needs solution

Hi !

I made an image ("my Computer" an Athlon 7) with TI 2009 using the bootdisc. It is faster.
Then i tested the image and TI said it was ok.

Then i tried to mount the image with TI 2009 installed on the XP(SP3) PC and it said it was no valid TI backup. It can only use backups made with mycomputer or mydata.

then I tested the image on the XP PC and it said it was ok.
then I tried to mount it and TI again says it was no valid backup.

What kind of image can my image be then? It is proofed ok but not mountable ?
I did not try to play it back, because i am afraid something is wrong with it.

I have four ones of that kind.

Instead of mounting, use Windows Explorer and try treating it like any other folder ... double click the .tib file to open it and keep double clicking until you drill down to a single file that you may want to copy.

Hello Gottfried,

I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to solve the issue.

There can be several reasons for the encountered issue. Use the following algorithm to identify the issue:

·         Update the software to the latest build. See Downloading the Latest Build of Acronis Software;

·         Make sure the backup archive that you are trying to mount is the one of an entire hard disk or a partition. Backup acrhives of files or folders cannot be mounted. See Mounting an Image Archive Created from Individual Files or Folders Fails;

·         If the backup archive is split, make sure that all the volumes reside in the same folder. See also Mounting an Image Spanned over Several CD or DVD Discs Fails;

·         Verify the backup archive by means of the Validate Backup Archive tool. See also Troubleshooting Issues with Corrupt Backups;

·         If there is an EISA partition (generally the service partition on a laptop) showing up on the last screen of the Mount wizard, do not mount it;

·         Unplug or disable all USB and card reading devices (unless your backup archive resides on one of those), and try to mount it;

If there is any encryption or security software, try temporarily disabling it, and see if this resolves the issue.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.
