TI 2009 under Win XP hangs on low virtual memory

Thread needs solution

Brought up a system from TI11 to TI 2009. WinXP SP3 running on an E-machine desktop computer. Backups worked under TI11 but now when I try to create a backup task under TI2009 the system hangs with “low virtual memory”. I can start TI 2009. It hangs somewhere in the middle of creating a task. Creating, not starting it. With 2GB of real memory on the system I don’t believe it’s an issue of lack of RAM. There are really too many variables to localize the problem at this point. Just want to know if the problem rings any bells for anyone.
Thanks.

Hello Roger,

Thank you for your post. I will definitely assist you with this issue.

It is possible all the memory on your machine is taken up by other applications. You can try increasing the virtual memory on your machine and see if you are still getting this message. Can you also open the task manager when TI 2009 is creating a backup and check how much memory is being used by our program under processes. Could you make a screenshot of that window please?

If you have additional questions, please let me know.

Thank you.

I believe the problem was a bad RAM stick. When I removed it Acronis worked.
Thank you for your input.
