TI 2010 with Windows 7 x64 problem

Thread needs solution

I just installed the Trial version of TI 2010 on my Windows7 Ultimate x64 system to try it before buying. I tried TI Home 10, which I purchased several years ago, but it wouldn't run in Windows7.

When I create a backup with TI 2010, the Operation Status window opens but there is no progress displayed. It is indeed creating the backup and the icon in the system tray shows the percent completion but why doesn't the Operation Status show the progress?

Even after the backup has completed, the Operation Status window is still open and showing no progress. If I select the Cancel button, I get a popup window asking if I'm sure I want to cancel this operation and quit.

Is there an update to correct this problem? I'm not going to purchase software that doesn't work correctly.

Thanks,

Doug

Never mind, I solved my problem. I got to thinking perhaps the problem was caused by my previous installation of TI 10. Even though I uninstalled TI 10 before installing TI 2010, the uninstaller leaves many scaps behind.

I uninstalled TI 2010 and found there were still Acronis files on the hard drive and many remaining Registry entries. After deleting all the remaining files and Registry entries, I reinstalled TI 2010 and everything works fine now. That solved the progress indicator problem I had.

Note to Acronis: You need to perform a better job of uninstalling your software since this obviously can cause problems.
