TI 2012 causes BSOD crashes

Thread needs solution

In November 2011 I bought a license for TI 2012, removed my TI 2011 software and installed the new version. The immediate result were BSOD Kernel Power Event 41 issues. TI 2012 was narrowed down and identified as the culprit by using selective startup utility.

When the uninstall completed I got the usual "machine must be restarted to complete uninstall". The machine would not reboot giving "No bootable partition in table". I will not recount the hours of searching for the root reason for that message but eventually figured out that the machine was trying to boot to a USB Flash stick I had and which is normally there as a permanent resource. In other words, despite my BIOS selection to boot to the hdd as a first boot device TI 2012 uninstall had changed something to make my machine try to boot first to the USB drive!!! It was only when I learned that I could boot into Windows through my CDROM drive that I pushed further and thought of removing the USB stick. The machine booted normally with the stick removed.

So I have now removed 2012 and reinstalled TI 2011 which never gave me any trouble.

I post this as information to others who may encounter the same, wierd problem. I did BTW, ask Acronis for support but they merely sent me to Gene Barlow who after several days has yet to respond to my email pleas for help. Now of course, I no longer need it.
