TI Home 2010 System State backup failure...
I'm running TI Home 2010 upgrade under Vista business on a laptop with a dual core processor. All functions work well except for one: when attempting system state backup, TI hangs and fails to progress beyond 0%. All other backup tasks function fine. I've tried the following work arounds suggested on various forums: # Setting compression level to "None" # Disabling all anti-viral and malware processes # Forcing the laptop to run TI on a single core only None has worked. I had no problems backing up System state in previous versions of TI on this same machine with no other changes to the software configuration.. Any suggestions gratefully received. I'm very disappointed, because one of the most important functions fo TI for me has been to backup my system state. Regards, John

Yes Spencer, you're correct!
I just let System State backup run, with compression level set to "none".
It took exactly 2 hours to run - it actually wasn't "hanging" at all, just taking 2 hours.
It produced 4 archive files: 3 files of 3.99GB each and one of 1.49GB!
I only have a 65GB hard drive on this machine and that's only half full!!!!
What is System State backing up??
It takes much longer than just creating an image of the whole drive and the archive files are enormous.
I'm missing something here.
Perhaps Acronis could enlighten us?
Thanks for your reply,
John
