TI Home version 11 Hangs on restore at screen with progress bars
I have built a new system with an Intel DX58OS motherboard and and i7 960 processor running 64 bit Windows 7 Ultimate. I received Acronis TI Home 11 build 8117 with the motherboard. During the build I made several full backups so I wouldn't have to start from scratch if I screwed something up...I like to tinker and screwups are a common occurence but who cares if I can get back to the pre-screw up configuration by simply restoring an image, right? However, the first time I needed to perform a restore the process failed. I pick the source and destination etc and the restore starts. The machine reboots and loads and displays the screen with the progress bars but it just sits there with no program or disc activity indications at all. After about 30 seconds the system reboots without having been restored to the image I selected.
Is there anything I can do to get the restore to work. I reloaded TI but it it acts exactly the same. I went back a few restore points and tried the restore again but still no joy.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the response. I tried creating a bootable media disk, booting from that, and then trying the restore but it is acting exactly the same...gets to the point of actually restoring and hangs right there.

Jim,
It might be worth your while downloading TI 2010 trial version and see if Rescue version will boot your PC correctly. Depending on what build of TI 11 you have, might alter whether TI 2010 can read the image file.
