TIH 2010 - Backing Up Applications Settings

Thread needs solution

True Image Home 2010
Windows Vista SP2
Intel T9300
3 GB RAM
250 GB HD

Whenever I attempt to backup the app settings for MS Word and MS Excel 2007, at the end of the process, the message in the Notification Area reports strangely that the program is 2797 % done. The actual number varies but it is weird. After that message goes away, another will display normally with 100% done. I am concerned that the application settings may not have saved correctly. I would have to attempt to redo all those app settings.

Thanks,

Tim

Hello Tim,

Let me assist you.

Most probably, it's just a GUI (Graphical User Interface) issue, so you may safely ignore it.

However, to make sure that created archive is good, you can validate it. Just right-click the created .tib archive file and select Validate.

If you want us to investigate the issue, please attach the following information to your reply to this thread:

  1. AcronisInfo tool output. Please check this KB article for the details;
  2. A screenshot of that incorrect progress pop-up window

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.

Thanks for your help. I was just concerned about losing all those settings. I won't worry, now. Thanks, again.

Tim

Since upgrading from TrueImage Home 2009 to 2010 I have repeated hangs when backing up WinXP-Pro(SP3) application settings:
Status reports "Running ... Complete 100%" bu the popup window for the tib just sits there for 15 minutes, and then it completes and reports "The operation was successfully completed."

During these 15 minutes, task manager reports:
ISWSVC.exe around 42% of CPU,
lsass.exe around 31% of CPU, and
TrueImage.exe around 23%.
This totals 96% so obviously everything slows down.

Why is version 2010 doing this? These symptoms are not exhibited for the five other backup tasks.

Regards,

Dave

Hello David,

Let me help you.

In your case I need some additional information to investigate the issue and to provide you with a resolution.

Could you please collect AcronisInfo tool output, create a screen shot of the task status window and submit a request to support directly with the gathered information?

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.

AcronisInfo content is impressive. Is a return code of 3010 normal for setup InstallDriver?
I will submit a request to support separately.

It appears as though a support request entails $$$. I haven't lost faith in the product - yet - so I will continue to manage this issue myself, for now.
