TIH 2011 Performance Issues

Thread needs solution

I recently downloaded and installed TIH 2011 build 5519 and it has serious performance issues. It sits at the initial screen and spends around 5-minutes "loading" before becoming responsive. Then, any action I try to perform, such as changing backup settings, is slower than a turtle going backwards. Granted, I'm using an old Dell Latitude D600, but it's maxed out w/2GB ram a 320gb internal drive split into a system and data partition (where My Documents is redirected) and a 2TB external usb hard drive which stores backups.

Task manager shows TrueImage.exe using between 85-97% CPU utilization, ~80K memory utilization, peak memory at 107K, 43K Page Faults, 66K VM size, 3043 I/O reads, 7 I/O writes, 11,146 I/O other and 521 I/O other. Also, afcdpsrv.exe is using between 50-80% of CPU and has topped out at 11,497,100 page faults and growing.

I've created exclusion rules in Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 to keep it from monitoring any TIH activity but it didn't make a difference.

As a side note, have been able to run memory intensive applications without any performance problems (as long as TIH isn't running).

Any help would be appreciated...
Thanks,
Jon
