TIH 2011 v6696 crashes when testing SMTP settings
I had trouble upgrading TIH 2011 from a previous build to 6696. After uninstalling and reinstalling (and using the Acronis Cleanup Tool between those processes) and setting up my scheduled backup again, the program consistently crashes when testing my SMTP settings for sending notifications. I tried to use my normal, unauthenticated SMTP server but it fails this test for some reason even though all of the information is correct and other programs have no trouble with the same settings. So I tried to use Gmail's SMTP server. I configure all the SMTP authentication settings as described by Gmail and when I press the Test button, TIH crashes. This is 100% repeatable. I have attached images. Below is the error that appears in the Windows Application log:

Wonderful. I suppose I could try with the SSL settings.

Well this is nice... the program will not open.

Hey Scott, congratulations you just found another feature that does not work as expected.
If you find a workaround I would like to add it to my book: Working with Banana Software Part1: Acronis True Image 2011 ;=)
I can't believe it - this program is a bad joke!

I can't tell if you were serious about wanting the workaround or not, but I did find one. Gmail's SSL SMTP settings work and can be found here (along with the not-working-with-TIH-2011 TLS settings):

Thank you Scott,
I will add it to my list ;=)
