TIH 2012 is SO SLOW

Thread needs solution

I tried to remove a backup list and it just sits there forever. I don't see it doing anything in the task manager. I use to have 2009 and just upgraded to 2012, it seems it is worse than ever now..

Am I doing something wrong here?

Hi Perci

I have noticed many customers commenting that versions of Acronis newer than 2010 have multiple problems not previously seen.
I hope I don't get banned from the forums.

You can try using msconfig.exe to disble allnon-micrososft services and all startup proglrams except the ati stuff and see if the prob disappears. If so , then it's a program conflict; you can find out which one by sleectively re-enabling the services and start-ups.

I installed latest upgrade of TI Home 12 (can't tell you the build # since program won't start!) and it took over 5 minutes for the program to start. Several times, program crashed before starting.

Before I installed latest version, program would not run properly. Perhaps new installation adopted the problem from older version. I've run scans and there seem to be no problems with either the source or the destination drives. No viruses detected.

Please help. Thanks.

Same problem. I use ATI to clone disks - so boot the Acronis Loader (no other tasks to blame here) and it is taking just ages with 2012. I used to clone a 750gb disk in a little over 2 hrs - and the time estimates were right. Now with 2012 it is taking over 5 hours. Even a small 80gb disk took 40 mins.

I don't understand why Acronis are not sorting this - enough people are complaining, and it's something to do with the newer versions. If it's not fixed in the next month I'm going to have to look for another product.

WAKE UP GUYS!!!

You can restore to disk before doing the upgrade. You''l no worse off than before.

You can use the bootcd to do the cloning. since either way, you end up booting into linux so why not try it from the bootcd. sometimes when one way doesn't work the other does.

try doing a full uninstall and then install the newest build. I'd even run the cleaner first and usw msconfg.

I'd bet a further update to ati2012 will happen since the new version is likely to come out in 2 months (based on history).
