TIH corrupts highest drive letter external drive in Windows 7

I have TIH v11.8053. I've been using it fine to backup Vista. I'm now trying out Windows 7 dualbooting with Vista using the XOSL bootloader.
Now when I do a restore, the restore work - however on logging in Windows 7 asks me if I'd like to format one of my external drives - the one with the highest drive letter. The drive is visible but unusable in.
At first I thought my drive was at fault. But this has happened a 2nd time with a different 2nd external hard drive.
Your help is much appreciated.
