TI's Backup administration under Win 8.1

Thread needs solution

Since installation of TI2014 Home, my PC has built-up three tiles (for 3 partitions) of daily incremental backup files (around 80 files each). For a while now, the Task Manager reports, that Trueimage.exe does use nearly 30% of the CPU. When opening the TI user interface, it shows a message, that there are no backups made on my HDs yet. This is not true, because all incremental files are in their defined directory. Two backup directories are on an internal HD, the third is on an external USB-HD.

In spite of TI's help function told me, that there are no new updates available, I found on the TI website a newer version from February 2014. So I completely reinstalled TI using the actual version. When starting it for the first time, I saw no backups (in spite of TI is configurated to search for backups after each start-up). So I started a manual search for backups. No reaction was visible on the TI user interface and the TI-window seemed to be frozen. After some unsuccessfull attemps I decided to wait for some hours. And indeed - after 8 hours (during the night) TI displayed my backups with all their actual completion dates.

Now I understand, why TI requires 30% of the CPU: It is doing something with the backup files. How should I deal with this behavior of TI? Has the actual version a limit of backup file size or file number, that should not be exceeded to avoid too high CPU loads? Is there a way to get TI to work as in the past (when I never recognized such problems)?
