Transferring OS to Intel SSD

Thread needs solution

I use TI 2013 for all my backups etc. I am in the process off migrating Windows 8 to Intel 520 SSD. The Intel Custom Utility for this is licensed from Acronis. Is installing this alongside TI 2013 likely to create any conflicts? My instinct is to stick to the Intel Instructions but would appreciate any advice that TI 2013 may be a better option even if it takes a bit more thinking about.

Thanks

Adrian

I would stick with using the 2013 version. You would not be able to install both versions of the Acronis software on the system, and this may create problems with one of both of them. The version distributed with the Intel SSD is based on an older version of True Image, and the 2013 version has all of the features of the OEM version along with an additional feature set.

The instructions for doing the migration to the new SSD would be similar, so reviewing them is good, but keep in mind the screens look significantly different between the versions.

Take a look at Grover's guides (Thanks, Grover) located here: http://forum.acronis.com/forum/29618

Be sure to look at your disk configuration as it is now installed, using Windows Disk Manangement, noting the partition order and which partition is active. This knowledge is crucial for a successful migration.

Perform the migration restore from your full disk backup image using the bootable Rescue Media (2013) for best results.
