Unsupported Internal Hard Drive on Restore

Made successful full disk image of my internal hard drive to an external drive.

I am unable to restore to the "same" internal hard drive because it comes up as "unsupported".

"Unsupported 149.1GB ATA ST3160812AS SCSI" is the message that I get.

I have the latest Version 11 build updated with the latest driver set.

It makes no sense to me that True Image recognizes the internal drive during backup, but not during restore.

Any suggestions?

Hello Mike,

I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to solve the issue.

First of all can you please clarify are you using Acronis bootable disc for recovery purposes? If so than the issue can be related to lack of drivers under the rescue media. Let me know via PM with the link to this thread and I will provide you ISO image of Acronis bootable disc which will solve the issue.

In case the issue took place in Windows the reason can be bad blocks or file system errors on the hard disk, so please check the disks for errors:

- Go to the Command Prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd)

- Enter the command: "chkdsk DISK: /r" (where DISK is the partition letter you need to check) for every partition that is visible in My Computer. Please note, that checking the C: drive may require you to reboot the machine.

If the issue remains please attach Acronis Report to your next reply. Please download Acronis Report utility available at http://download.acronis.com/support/AcronisReport.exe and run it. Please compress the Acronis Report output file into an archive (e.g. with WinZip) and attach to your message by browsing for the archive. This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.
