True IMage 2011 Disk/Partition BU WIndows XP problem

Thread needs solution

I have several instances of XP with True Image Home configured for:
Disk/Partition Backup
Incremental Scheme
Auto Consolidation set for 1 copy
Scheduled once daily.

Issue: The first full backup runs fine. The next incremental backup runs, creates new file, but consolidation never completes. The panel shows its calculating time remaining and will run until you stop it. Consolidation never occurs.
This exact scenario is performing perfectly in Windows 7.

Any thoughts?

Mark,

Consolidation requires a lot of free space to complete as it creates temporary copies of the backups being consolidatio to avoid their corruption in case of failure.
I recommend you stick with incremental backups in such a way that you have enough space on your disk for 2.5 times the size of your initial backup at a minimum. You then set up to keep only a limited amount of version chains. I am saying 2.5 with the following reasoning: 1 full backup, a few incrementals (.5 time the full backup), then another full backup that ATI will do before erasing the previous chain(s).
