True Image 2012 Stopped Making Backups - How to resume them?

Thread needs solution

I just discovered that True Image 2012 stopped saving backups two weeks ago. I was never notified in any way; I just happened to peek in the My Backups folder and noticed no recent files were there. Upon checking the error log I see several "the disk is full" errors. I presume it's talking about the backup drive but it never mentions which disk it thinks is full.

Here's the thing: When I go to Settings > Disk backup options > Advanced > Error handling, I see that "When not enough space in ASZ, delete the oldest backup" is checked. Is my backup drive not the Acronis Secure Zone (ASZ)? (I've actually just read the documentation on the secure zone, and I'm more confused about it now than I was before. Why didn't True Image tell me about ASZs when I set up my first backup?)

It obviously hasn't deleted any previous backups, however; every backup from the day I first demoed True Image is there. What do I need to do to ensure that A) True Image keeps making backups when disk space is low, by deleting old backups as needed and B) True Image notifies me when failures occur?

Thanks.

P.S. Experimenting with the consolidation settings now...

Yes, ASZ is not any destination but, well, Acronis Secure Zone - a special partition on the hard disk, not normally accessible from Windows. You can use 'keep the size of backup no more than N Gb' , if you select, e.g. Incremental scheme, select ' create full version every N backups', then turn on automatic cleanup - it will be there.

Josh, for normal backup operations to a backup drive, you do not need to use ASZ. You can have 2012 notify you via email about each backup job, sucess or failure. You set email notification up in the backup options when creating a task. Here is a link to a guide to using ATIH 2012 by GroverH (thanks Grover). http://forum.acronis.com/forum/28705 Take a good look at it, and esp. the section on incremental and differential backups and the associated cleanup methods for keeping your backup drive from becoming full.

Thanks folks. I found the Notifications tab; I had just assumed that something important like disc full failures would automatically raise warnings, but that appears to not be the case.

Also, my attempt to perform consolidation to free up space failed. I presume it's because the drive was too full to perform the operation, but I can't find any error codes or further description of the problem. Looks like I'll just have to delete the last 90 days of backups and start again. I will read Grover's guide. Thanks.
