True Image 2012 will not upgrade from 2011

Thread needs solution

When uploading the upgrade file from 2011 to 2012, then installing it, 2012 only installs so far and then backs out. When I try to reload it, it says I have the latest version. Not sure what to make of this and this is not unexpected with this product. It has happened to me in earlier versions. Anyone have any ideas of what is happening? Is there something wrong with the 2012 upgrade file?

Try to disable your security software or, even better, use msconfig to disable all non-microsoft services and start up items. Then try the upgrade again. If this doesn't work, try to uninstall 2011 first, then upgrade. If this doesn't work, run the 2011 cleanup utility, reboot, then upgrade. Once correctly installed, re-enable the services and start up items you want.

Honestly, what you have described as a fix is way too much effort. No software program should require this much effort to fix a problem such as upgrading. Not sure what I am going to do, may even remove it as I did before. Acronis products seem to do this, it has happened to me before in earlier versions. I was hoping it would not happen again. Thanks for the input.
