True Image 2013: Automatic Backup deletion

Thread needs solution

Hi Folks,

I chose the "Automatic Cleanup" Option but none of the options present take effect. Subsequently none of my old backup is deleted.

What can I do to get rid of old backup in order to keep my backup device from getting filled up with old backups?

What about the "Automatically Consolidate" option? Is this one working?

kind regards, reinhart

Would you consider posting a picture of your backup scheme settings which is not working.
Perhaps even posting a picture of your storage folder containing the backup files.

Here is one example of the backup scheme working.

Hi,

i switched to "consolidating" the backup. Consolidation is done but is stuck at the "calculation" step. The GUI is not refreshed. If I cancel the operation after a few hours the backup actually is consolidated but the GUI still hasn't reacted.

Can you help me on that issue?

kind regards, reinhart

Automatic cleanup is more of a preferred solution (as compared to consolidation) as it simply deletes the older files rather than merging data. To me, consolidtion and merging data is putting each backup file at risk of corruption plus it adds a lot of time to the completion of the backups.

Consider stop using your existing tasks and begin new by creating a new task pointing to a new empty folder or sub-folder and set the backup scheme on something like the examples shown in link #2 below , either illustations 11-Inc, or 11-Dif, or 11-Full. You can adjust the numbers used in the examples but using these examples would be my recommendation.

Also, my recommendation is to avoid editing an existing task as editing can often confuse the program and cause unexpected results.
