True Image 2013 locks up when starting recovery

Thread needs solution

I've had True Image 2013 with Plus Pak installed for almost a year before I discovered I had a problem. All the backups checked OK and I never needed to use Recover. I was going to recover a file, and when I clicked on Recover, the screen faded a bit, and eventually Windows 7 said the program had stopped responding. Where should I start?

Reboot and try again.

There are other ways you can restore files/folders:

- You can boot from the ATI2013 bootable Rescue Media and choose a files/folders restore, selecting the files and folders you wish to restore to the new PC.

- If you install ATI2013 on the new PC, you could then mount the backup and copy files/folders from it to the new drive.

- If you install ATI2013 on the new PC, you could double-click the backup to open it in Windows Explorer, then copy files/folders from it to the new drive.

I've tried many reboots over period of four weeks. I restart it every day. I don't need to recover a file at the moment, I just need to make sure it's working.

Try one of the other methods I mentioned.

I realize I can probably recover a file using these methods. but my goal at the moment is to get the program to work properly. Is there anything to try before uninstalling and reinstalling True Image? If that is what I have to do, is there a recommended way to do it? I have the Plus Pak installed, do I uninstall it first?

There's a way to repair an install. I haven't done it so can't recall how, but a forum search or browse through the manual may find it.

Just run the True Image installer again, it will offer you a repair option.
