True image 2014 interface not working properly

I have TI 2014 that has been working fine since installation recently the interface started giving me problems. It seems to be confusing backups. Saying that a new backup has n version (say 25) when there is only one version at the location. The program creates and validates backups and the backups restore by opening the tib files directly but I cannot use the normal file restore options in the interface.  I have no idea why this is happening. Has it happened to anyone else? Do I need to get 2016. I am reluctant since 2014 has been great so far.

John, it sounds like your ATIH 2014 database has become corrupted given the symptoms you describe, please try the following actions to resolve this:

1.  Rename or remove the current database folder / files at C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Database - this folder may be hidden on some systems.  Note: Please stop all Acronis Services and programs before taking this action.
When done, then restart the Acronis Services and launch ATIH 2014 which will rebuild the database.

If step 1 does not resolve this problem, then continue with step 2.

2.  Uninstall ATIH 2014, then run the Acronis Cleanup tool (link in my signature below), then re-install the program.
When reinstalling, please ensure that you have that latest version from your Acronis Account.
Note: you will need to recreate your backup tasks after reinstalling, though you can try saving the content of the Scripts folder (same path as above) and then restoring this after reinstalling.
