TRUE IMAGE DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY WITH SSD DRIVE

Thread needs solution

I installed a 1 TB SSD (PCI bus) to replace the HDD on my Dell workstation. Backup is done by temporarily installing a conventional HDD, just formatted, on an eSATA port and clone the SSD to that HDD using the CLONE DISK utility. This has worked perfectly for years with HDD Drive 0. True Image opens a "dos" window for the clone operation then shuts down when complete. Remove the backup HDD- restart- piece of cake.

But with the SSD on PCI bus as the OS disc instead of HDD, True Image hangs and doesn't restart correctly after the cloning operation. The answer seems to be to forcing boot to the SSD with F12 which gets the system running but there is a True Image artifact which causes the next restart to lock up- again. After the second forced restart the system seems okay.

This is spookey behavior in a "backup" software. I don't mind updating (product has been great for years) but if this hasn't been fixed then I'll have to find another product. Does the 2014 version cure this problem?

Any comments or advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
