True Image doesn't initialize

Thread needs solution

I have newly installed Acronis TI on my system: Windows 7 on an Asus Z97 Mark 3 motherboard.

I've been able to access Acronis just once. I'd like to open it again, but when I click on the Desktop icon, Icronis does nothing. Everything else works just fine.

This really does look like a crappy piece of software. I would reinstall it, but I can't do that without knowing if it will affect the registration. Can someone tell me?

Thanks.

Reinstall does not affect your registration. But uninstall on the usual way (system control / uninstall) crashed on my computer. I had to use the ATI cleanup tool in orfer to remove ATI2015.
After reinstalling and starting the program, ATI2015 again searched my computer and the attached removable drives for backup files. This took a while and gave me a long, confusing list of backup files, which I had created with ATI2010 version from a different computer.

I didn't explain what happens when you attempt to open Acronis. First a splash screen appears stating "Do you want the following program to make changes to this computer?" When you click "Yes", the splash screen disappears ... and that's it. Nothing more happens. It's becoming clearer that this really is a substandard piece of software, although I was seduced by the professional ads.

Denis,

Do you have Windows AUC active and if so at what level?

Is your firewall allowing all the True Image components to run?

What user permissions do you have, running as Admin (not as an Administrator that is a different account) or as a standard user?

What happens if you right click on the shortcut and select 'Run as Admin'?

Check in Windows Task Manager and see if the TI GUI is listed more than once.

You can run a repair install before you try the uninstall and reinstall options, just run the installer again and you should get a repair option, unless of course you have by now uninstalled.
