True image home 2011 cancelling itself

Thread needs solution

Please help, my true image home 11 suddenly stopped working. It says that there is an error writing to the file, then looks for another backup location, then just stops.

Any help would be appreciated. I've attached screen shots of the error messages.

Thanks.

Mike

Is your destination drive still assigned the letter E: ?

Mike,
This type error is very often caused by the target disk not being recognized or by Windows assigning a different drive letter due to the insertion of some other usb device such as a printer or flash drive.

Do one thing more. Open Windows Explorer and confirm that a the target disk is listed and is listed as Drive E.

What type device is drive E? Internal or external and if usb, is it usb3?

Is drive E one of the new 3Terabyte size disks?

It's definitely drive E:. The device is a USB Western Digital 4000BEV EHD. It's not UB3 (it's older) and not a NEW3t DISK.

My next suggestion would be to check for disk/file erros on each partition being included within the backup and also check for errors on the target disk. You could start with E:

I did check for errors on the E drive and found none. I did not check the sectors. Should I?

I did not check for errors on drive C. I don't think I need to since I run a Windows backup as well on another EHD and that works fine.

GroverH,

Well after all that I reformatted the EHD and tried again. Problems, then a complete crash. I'm guessing that the disk was just going. So I destroyed the old EHD and bought a new EHD and it works fine, backs up in a little more than 4 hours.

Thanks again for your help.
