True Image Home 2011 Plus Pack Recovery Media + Dawicontrol DC-324e (RAID 0)

Thread needs solution

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am a proud Acronis customer since 2008. At the moment I am using a Dawicontrol DC-324e Raid Controller consisting of 2 Western Digital VelociRaptor harddrives (RAID 0). Unfortunately, the recovery media which was created with the current version of True Image Home 2011 Plus Pack fails to work.

The only way to boot the recovery media successfully is to start it in Safe-Mode. After that it freezes while backing up / recovering.

EDIT: The Backup / Recovery feature in Safe-Mode works, the status bar and status label at "Operation Progess" just do not want to update.

Is there a way to use the regular Non-Safe-Mode?

I already tried to setup a BartPE and WinPE (containing slipstreamed drivers) but the system still fails to boot into TIH2011PP. Symatec Norton Ghost v15 works flawlessly after manually adding the Raid Controller drivers (Symatec uses a WinPE 2.0 recovery environment).

Starting in Non-Safe-Mode causes an "Acronis is loading... Please Wait" endless loop.

I already tried creating a TIH2011PP WinPE 3.0 environment (slipstreamed drivers included) but loading the disk ends in an winload.exe error.

In addition, mouse behaviour is very strange. It starts to jump across the screen as soon as I start moving it. "usblegacy=off" & "usbmouse=off " did not work. I am using a Logitech G9 mouse. In general, GUI interaction is very slow and time-consuming.

I would be very grateful if you could assist me in this issue. I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours faithfully
Robert Seib

try usbmouse=off

Hi Scott, thanks for assisting. Already tried that. No luck, using a different mouse did the trick :/

Sorry the one thing didn't work but glad there was something else that did. With all the diff hardware combinations possible with PCs, it's a wonder we can get anything to work at all. Otoh, you can't beat the flexibility ;)

You bet :) I tried creating a backup in safe-mode. First of all, I created a new folder inside TIH2011PP and while naming the folder, TIH2011PP froze :(

Quick Overview:

  • True Image Home 2011 Plus Pack ONLY starts in SAFE-MODE
  • SAFE-MODE GUI is very UNRESPONSIVE and BUGGY (slow text input; GUI updates; ...)
  • Starting TIH2011PP in Full Version ends in "Loading, please wait ..." endless loop
  • Starting TIH2011PP in Full Version "noquiet" Mode ends displaying the following line of text:

acronis: insmod: error inserting '/lib/modules/floppy.ko' : -1 No such device : No such device

Have tried the bootable media iso available from your registered account it should have different drivers than the one made from within TI

Hi and thanks como, I will have a look.

EDIT: Burned the above mentioned .ISO ... still no luck. Starting Full Version ends displaying "Loading, please wait ..."

Time for a support request for a special iso file? If you have bought TI recently then you should have 30 days free support from the date of purchase, if so try live chat I found it very useful in the past when it was free.

Otherwise PM one of the Acronis Modulators on this forum and ask (beg) for their help, link back to this thread, they will no doubt ask for a system information file.

I contacted the chat support. There is already someone working on it. Anyway, thanks for the advice.
