True Image Home 2012 with upgrade to 2013 moving from Win7 to Win 8 computer
I actually have the family pack with 3 win 7 pro computers running True Image. I purchased two new laptops with win 8 pro on them to replace two of the Win7 laptops. I want to move the license from the win7 laptops to the win 8 laptops.
I still have two files that I originally downloaded which are.
ATIH2012_7133_en-US
ATIH2013_5551_en-US
I think what happened is that I purchased the product which came with "Plus" on August 07, 2012 and I am thinking that there was a with a free update to the 2013 version as that is what I was running on my Win7 computers. I do not recall paying for an upgrade. Now If I try to install the 2012 version windows 8 complains about a compatibility issue so I did not go any further. I can install the 2013 version and it runs fine but will not let me use my original license number. It says "the serial number is incorrect".
The only way I can get it to run is with a trial serial number. I think since I can not enter my original license number, It does not give me the option to move it to a different computer as the documentation states. How can I move my True Image to my Windows 8 pro computers.
Thank you

Thanks for your reply. I was just about to say never mind as I just figured out how to do it.
I got the 2013 serial number from the Win7 computer, true Image about screen and used it in the win8. It realized that this was an upgrade. Then it asked for the for the version I upgraded from which was my original license number and now it is activated and running. I assume that on the win7 computer I took the license number off that True image is now inactivated. Is that correct?
Thank you

Yes. As it's now installed and activated on the new PC, you can't use it on the old PC.

On your Windows 8 system try running the 2013 True Image cleaner and then after a reboot see if it will accept your serial number. I'm unclear on whether you've tried entering the 2013 serial number to 'unlock' the trial version or if you have downloaded the standard upgrade installer which will require as Tuttle says your 2012 and 2013 serial number.
