TrueImage 2010 - Differential and Incremental Backups Never End

Thread needs solution

Windows 7 Ultimate Edition, x32
Acronis TrueImage 2010 (latest build)
Backup Destination: Western Digital Elements 1 Terabyte USB

What I did:
1. Created task for Full backup for files and folders (my docs + archive folder in root).
2. Ran Full backup (success).
3. Created task for Incremental backup for files and folders (same set) and ran it.
4. FAIL. Incremental backup ran for over 12 hours, said it would finish in a few thousand days. Looking at destination showed file of around 16,384 KB or something (seems like a significant number for computers?).
5. Created task for Differential backup for files and folders (same set) and ran it.
6. FAIL. Same symptoms as #4.

There really shouldn't be anything to backup for the diff or inc. as I didn't really create any files in between runs.

Plenty of space on USB drive (268 gigs free). c: drive (backup source) has plenty of space free as well.

Any ideas?
