Trueimage 9.0 on Windows 7 Pro x64?

Thread needs solution

I did see a post about TI 9 where it mentioned that version 10 was the first version that worked with Vista, but given that particular OS was so flaky, I was hoping that Windows 7 might play nicer with TI 9. I'm afraid I know the answer, given I couldn't even install it (getting an error stating "The installer was interrupted before Acronis True Image could be removed. You need to restart the installer to try again" which is a tad odd since it was never installed before on my new laptop :) Well, I'd tried it several times but always got the same message.

If indeed it absolutely won't run on this system, so be it, but if it's something weird I have to do to make it happen, that would be great to know :) Hmm, would it run in the windows xp emulator if I left it up?

TIA

True Image version 9 is eight years old. Using it on XP is fine, but I wouldn't rely on it for Windows 7. It also doesn't support USB 3.0.
