TrueImageMonitor Preventing File From Being Overwritten

Thread needs solution

Hello. I use True Image Home 2012 (been using since 2009 version), build 6154. Note that I am *not* running NonStop Backup. I also use Quicken Premier which I have set to prompt me to backup the Quicken data file upon program's exit. I also can backup this data file on the fly. I have been getting an error message whenever I attempt to backup the data saying, "Quicken cannot open the data file because it is in use by some other application. Please close that application and try again." Again, this is when that backup file would be created or, if already present, overwritten.

Through some trial and error, I find that if I go to the Task Manager and End Task on the process "TrueImageMonitor.exe," I can run my Quicken backup. I then go ahead and run TrueImageMonitor.exe from my Acronis folder and all is well. This is easily replicated using these steps.

But this should not be necessary. Anyone experience this and if so, what is the solution?

Running this on an i7 Sony Vaio laptop, Win 7 Home Premium, 8 GB RAM.

Thanks,
Allen

Since you are not using NonStop Backup, go to services.msc and turn the Acronis Non-Stop Backup and the SyncAgent Services to Manual start. See if that makes a difference.

Well, sad to report that did not work. I set both services to manual and rebooted. Even before testing, I see in Task Manager that TrueImageMonitor.exe is still running. I went about trying to save the file I referenced in my first post and got the same error. I then did an End Task on TrueImageMonitor.exe and all works properly. I know I can stop TrueImageMonitor.exe from starting automatically via msconfig, but I really should not have to do that. Plus, if I turn this off, I apparently lose the ability to interface with the program via the systray icon.

Anyone have any other idea as to why TrueImageMonitor.exe locks a file, stopping it from being written to?
