Try&Decide with True Image Trial Version

Thread needs solution

I just downloaded and installed the trial version of True Image on my Windows 8 PC. So far, it seems to be working OK, except that when I try to run Try&Decide from the True Image Tools package, as soon as it has initialised Try&Decide, it displays the message "The trial version of True Image has expired. Select what you want to do with the changes you have made".

This occurs before I've had a chance to do anything. If I select 'Cancel', it wants to reboot, if I select 'Apply', it finishes, but shortly afterwards I get a Windows message saying the True Image has encountered a problem. However, True Image non-stop backup still seems to be running OK.

Is the Try&Decide option disabled in the trial version? Is this a known problem?

It should work, the only limitations are Cloning not available, recovery CD can only recover images and you can only make images for 30 days as well as the restricted use of cloud storage.

It could be a Windows 8 specific problem though, I'll see what happens on my W8 system.

So, what happened?

Sorry got sidetracked - 2013 deactivated itself on my laptop, sorted now, will tests tonight for you.

As it happens, it's not a problem for me any more - by terrifying coincidence, my system got stuck in boot-time disk-check/repair loop I couldn't get out of without using the Win8 'Refresh' recovery, that loses all your programs but keeps the New UI Apps (how useful is that? ... not). So instead I gambled and recovered it using the True Image backup - which worked so well I decided to buy it on the spot :)
