Two Update Questions
1. Is it feasible to allow Acronis to download and install updates? Last I heard, wiping out all traces of ATIH was the recommended way to update.
2. How do I turn the update nag off? Unchecking the "Automatically check for updates at start up" option doesn't turn it off.
I'm running build 5560.

Sorry for the delay. Immediate notify is set, but doesn't seem to work.
At any rate, I did allow it to update and all seems well.

Whether its ok to update or uninstall first--much is personal opinion.
Certainly, I you have any issues going forward, I would use the "Cleanup utilitiy" and start fresh.
As for the checking for updates:
Click the ? in upper right corner and look at the setting for "Check for updates"
The option should be unchecked.
You can also look at the registry.
A setting of 1=enabled
A setting of 0=disabled (no checking)
this is my registry setting for no checking.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Settings
"AutocheckUpdates"=dword:00000000
This registry value can be edited.
