Unable to Boot after Acronis Uninstall

Thread needs solution

Quick Summary:

  • 2tb drive with Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit installed on the primary partition - no encryption
  • Manually uninstalled Acronis True Image and deleted all Acronis files (including Bootwiz directory)
  • Restarted to find "no configuration file" error.
  • Tried Windows 7 tools for disk recovery--none worked

Must have drive working immediately, really important.

=====================================

Update: found out that there were no system files or directories on the c: partition.  So I followed the instructions on MS Technet and copied the Boot directory and bootmgr files back to c

since the System Reserved drive was being assigned the drive letter c: I couldn't rebuild or view the bcds.

Any ideas? Or would it just be wiser to start a public awareness campaigns in the hopes of helping others to avoid this problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
