A Green, welcome to these user forums.

Cloning should only be performed using the Acronis bootable Rescue Media on CD/DVD or USB stick, and not from within Windows.

The new SSD drive should be installed in place of the original HDD drive in the system where it will be used as the OS boot device.  The HDD drive should be connected externally via USB using a USB to SATA adapter.

A full disk backup should be made of the HDD before attempting the clone operation.

Please see KB document: 48386: Acronis True Image 2015: Cloning Disks and also 1540: Difference between Backup and Disk Clone which give more information on other requirements that need to be satisfied when cloning, and show how using Backup & Restore can be an alternative to using cloning.

Finally, see webpage: Check if your PC uses UEFI or BIOS which you should determine so that you also boot the Acronis Rescue Media in the same way that your Windows OS boots, i.e. both using UEFI, or both as Legacy/BIOS
