Unable to Install Acronis True Image Home 2009

Thread needs solution

Hi, I uninstalled Acronis True Image Home 2009 about a month ago because it was causing me problems (BSODs) with my Windows 7 x64 PC. However, not all of the program was uninstalled, and parts of it still run at startup and its drivers are still installed. I tried to reinstall the latest build of this program today and every time I run the set up it gives me an error that says: "The installation was interrupted before Acronis True Image Home could be installed. You need to restart the installer to try again." I have restarted the installer at least a dozen times with not luck. Also, I've tried running the install program in various compatibility modes and turning off my anti-virus software. None of these things have worked. I need to install this program very badly so that I can do a clean uninstall of it to fix my recurring blue screens. Does anyone have any idea how I can get it install?

Thanks in advance!

Your problem is due to either your temporary folder is full or remants of the original installation are still in registry. This might be exacerbated by the fact that TI 2009 is supposed to be on the Microsoft banned items list.

Whilst it installed originally MS did provide an MS update that added TI 2009 (amongst others) to it's 'do not install' database.

When you run the installer do you get a repair option?
