Unable to load linux kernel from boot cd

Thread needs solution

I am trying to clone my C drive so I can upgrade it. Running TIH from Windows will not let me select the C drive, which makes some sense, so I am trying the Boot CD.

However, I am getting an unable to load Linux error on my boot CD. The mouse also does not work. I am using TIH 2009.

I boot from the CD, then there is a splash screen asking if I want to start TIH or Windows. I hit enter as the start TIH option is selected (mouse is not working.) Almost immediately I get the Unable to Load Linux error.

If I try the Linux ISO boot CD, it starts up fine, but does not see my C drive, just my RAID array and the drive I want to clone to.

I just upgraded my computer from a Core2 Duo with a P45 chipset to a 2nd gen Core i5 (Sandy Bridge) with a Z68 chipset. Both mobos from Gigabyte. Also now have a SATA BD-R drive when I used to have an IDE DVD-RW.

I tried the CD in my wife's first generation Core i5 system and it works fine. Hers is an ASUS board. Hers still has a IDE DVD Drive.

I am now trying to do a backup and restore and will see if that works better than last time when I had to spend an hour recovering the boot sector which would not restore.

I would really like to get my boot CD working and seeing all of my drives.
