An unfair practice.

Thread needs solution

I purchased an update to ATI2009 in June and was unable to install it and run it until August 2009. Without any knid of advice or notification to me ATI 2010 was brought out in September.

Now I am expected to pay an additional $30 to upgrade again to the new version. I find this very unfair and not at all good customer service or good business. I have tried to bring this up to management without any reply or response.

It seems to me not a good way to hold onto good customers (I have been buying this software since ATI 7)

I have TI-2009 installed and working fine. From what I read here in some posts about the current version of TI-2010, I am not at all interested in upgrading, even if free.

In about six months I'll consider the upgrade, until then I'm happy.

That's hardly the point that I'm making. I have ATI 2009 working very well but I still don't want to have to pay $30 after 1 months use.

I intend to upgrade to Windows 7 in about a month and want to be sure that my ATI works well with Windows 7.

With regards to your question, our upgrade policy is to provide free upgrade to customers who purchased the software within 30 days prior to the release of the new version of the product.

At the moment, the following Acronis products support Windows 7:

(!) Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 supports Windows 7 with the following limitations:

  • Mounting backups stored in Acronis Secure Zone is not possible;
  • Mounting backups located on a network share in read/write mode is not possible;
  • The Active Restore feature is not available when restoring a system volume in Windows from a backup stored in Acronis Secure Zone;
  • User accounts generated for Acronis services during the product installation may appear on the Windows 7 logon screen;
  • Acronis Storage Node does not support tape drives. See Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Tape Support in Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7.

Well, seems Acronis has taken a page out of Bill Gates' book - conceptulize a product, then sell it, THEN fix it after it's sold. It's no wonder we are all where we are when all we do is "bit and devour one another.
