Unlimited cloud question on True Image Unlimited

Thread needs solution

Is the cloud storage truly unlimited on True Image Unlimited? I have a couple terebytes of photos that I would like to backup from my NAS and would like a clear answer whether I would be able to do this before purchasing.

Also, is the unlimited storage only good for a set amount of time or the entire time that I am using True Image 2015?

Thanks!

Hi themurries,
please find here information about fair usage policy in Acronis True Image Unlimited:
https://kb.acronis.com/content/48116
Thank you,

It's either unlimited or it's not. Based on that article it is NOT unlimited. False advertisement IMO. If the max system backup size is 3TB as stated, then SAY THAT, don't market what you're selling as something it's not.

So sick of companies doing this.

Unlimited STORAGE is NOT unlimited content "TYPE". Maybe it's time to start suing companies that do this??

Yeah tell me about it! Almost 2 TB on cloud and the scale is a loooong way away from the end!

I like the software and the price is best out there but this "fair use" deal limitation should be up front instead of buried like it is.

Nowhere in the references articles does it say that 3TB is the maximum, if I'm not mistaking. The only thing it says is that data usage above 3TB COULD be seen as excessive, and thus measures COULD be taken. However, I don't expect there to be a hard limit. Maybe excessive usage is handled with on a user-to-user basis?

Don't Count on the image of the bar. It IS just at 3 TB. I have massive video data and my big computer serves also as the storage for the entire family. (2 RAID arrays on a Supermicro server grade motherboard). The progress bar is red and visually shows only about 3% but says it has been limited.

Still the same worthless support from Acronis I see, after a long absence on this forum...

But back on topic:

Acronis have set the limit to 15TB/pc (license) since august 17 2015 for Acronis True Image Cloud 2016.
Take a look at http://kb.acronis.com/ati2016/fairusage

Shame that this topic isn't updated by Acronis itself .......

Same issue. Fair use is NOT unlimited, which is what the product and the advertising say.

Not quite true Jazzz - the article http://kb.acronis.com/ati2016/fairusage says "Acronis reserves the right to set reasonable storage limits in the future (i.e. 15TB / PC or Mac on Unlimited Accounts)." which isn't quite the same as saying it has been a set limit since Aug 17th.

English is not my native tongue, so thanks for the correction Richard !

No problem - personally I think this sort of deal should be called "almost unlimited" or similar to make it more obvious, and if there is a fair usage policy then ensure there is at least a link to that clearly shown at the point of purchase.
