Unsilicited switch from differential to incremental
I always setup my backup daily at 08:30 and customized dumptype as differential (basedump after 15 differentials).
I regular check for the files if they exist on the external disk. I deleted a bunch older differentials and started ATI to verify the latest backup. Because the backup list was a rather large , I removed the list and browsed for the last full BU BU_N76VZ_Win_8_2014803_full_b5_s1_v1.tib. It loaded however BU_N76VZ_Win_8_2014803_full_b4_s1_v1.tib.
The loaded BU complained about a missing version when I clicked "recover files".
In the past I had this problem too. This occurs when the full dumps have an incremental BU scheme (schedule was set to Weekly on Wednesday).
I never change ths deliberately, but I've a feeling I do something that causes it.
The backup had already 5 full dumps. From the beginning ATI named the backup files correctly e.g. BU_N76VZ_Win_8_2014803_diff_b5_s5_v1.tib (this was the last dump). The sizes reflects a ifferential scheme.
I stopped backup and started a new one.
Any idea? Right now I can't access the backups e.g. to view the versions or recover files.
I fact I can't do anything with it.

I'm really really sorry for this late response. Laptop does not reside close to my place and I lost teamviewer pw (I have to many....).
I'm running ATI premium 2014 and delete the differentials manually from disc. The settings are always the same: Scheme -->custom / differential / take full dump after 15 diff's. and schedule --> Event - at system startup - only once a day.
I have attached an image of the settings for BU_N76VZ_Win_8_20140803_full_b4_s1_v1(1). I noticed the change after cleaning (deleting) some differentials, because ATI couldn't access the dumps.
I overlooked it. There are indeed 38-39BU's, of which 5 Full dumps istead of 61. The number of diff's before taking new full dump is set to 15.
Right now I have changed the Scheme back to custom differential and set it as default. All 5 full dumps have correct scheme now. I removed the BU list and added BU_N76VZ_Win_8_20140803_full_b4_s1_v1(1) to list. Not xxx_full_b4_s1_v1(1) that was listed but xxx_b3_full_s1_v1(1). When I wanted to display the version (with "recover files" ) it complained with message "cannot find version 7". If hit IGNORE message "cannot find version 6" showed up. Etc etc.
Besides this problem I can not change the schedule to Event "at startup". After any change it's set back to "Weekly on Saterday".
It's not possible to display the schedule of the diff dumps. They are not explo red from the full dumps and I cannot add them to list (through browse).
I've always - since ATI home 2009 and other versions - deleted the diff's manually and never had a problem. This is the second time i encounter this phenomenom using 2014. I've restarted the BU and its running fine and it's not a problem anymore (as long I know that bu's taken are accessible).

This is a serious problem, because if unnoticed and a problem occurs that demands recovery, it will fail. This means ATI is useless......
The logs show correctly terminated backups withoutany failure message. I use this ATI home since 2009 and delete the differentials and/or full backups to save diskspace. This is an advantage of using differentials. However this seems with the version 2014 not possible. The full backups have been changed to incremental and the differentials are linked in the system problably as if they were incrementals. Deleting differentials lead to confusion and disorder of the system that maintains the backups. This should never happen....

Please consider using some automatic cleanup in future schemes so the same problem will not occur again in a few weeks.
The program created 60 tib files but your actual count showed 38 due to the manual deletion of some older backups. This rendered the existing task to not able to create new backups.
The program will do its own automatic deletion of older backups if properly configured with automatic cleanup turned on so manual deletion by you is not needed, program will cleanup after itself.
Consider using my example of GH13 for your differential backup scheme except change my example of 2 diff after full to your 15 diff after FULL.
Turn on automatic cleanup and set your scheme to "Store no more than 2 recent chains". With this combination of settings your chain length is 16 files (1 Full + 15 diff)
The setting of "store 2 chains" will retain/keep 2 chains of 16 files each or a total of 32 backups. Seconds after the backup #33 which will be a FULL BACKUP, the program will automatically delete the oldest chain of 16 files, keeping chain #2 and the beginnings of chain 3 (most recent full backup). The daily 15 differential backups will occur to complete the retain 2 chains settings.
Automatic deletion of the oldest chain (16 files) will continue in the future to occur seconds after each Full backup such as after Full backup #33, 49, 65, 81. 97, etc. always keeping the two oldest chains.
If you wish to keep more/less chains, change the "store X chains" to a different number to either increase/decrease the amount of storage space consumed.
GH20. Remove Single Task from Task Menu Listing
There is no reason to do so due to the use of automatic cleanup but the correct way to delete tib files in version 2014 is to do so from within the program via this example.
GH5. How to delete backup files using Acronis Backup 'Explorer'
It would be beneficial to review my signature reference link 1 below. This link contains many helpful tips on how to be successful with 2014.
Once the new task is created, do not make later changes. If changes needed, stop using the old task and create a new change.
Note:
Should you wish to keep some copies in another folder for archiving, copy the full and a single differentials into a different folder as only the Full plus one diff is all that is needed for restoring.
Good luck!
