Upgrade question

Thread needs solution

Do I qualify for upgrade pricing if I am upgrading from version 10?

Not 2010 or 2011, but 10.  (The one after 9..lol) I dont want to buy a licence only to find out its not going to work.

I'm also curious as to how the pricing would work if I wanted to buy 3 licences.

Now with activation required, I'm also afraid that I may get reds flagged as I tend to install and unistall and reconfigure my computer quite regularly.  My old version didn't care, as long as I had the right serial number.

I see pricing, but I cant find much that covers my siduation.

Thank you.

You should contact Acronis sales to get your sales questions.

If you move from an older version to 2012, make sure you backup your system to get a backup before the upgrade. Then uninstall your old version and install the trial.

I believe an upgrade is an upgrade, so yes you can buy the upgrade version, and so long as you have your serial number for v10 all is OK. If you registered v10 under your account you'll be able to download your serial number for v10 if you've mislaid it.

Activation has only just started and only applies to 2012 and probably future versions. Don't worry too much about the activation, if you have activated and you install again on the same machine you should be fine. Even if there is a problem it will whisk you off to the activation site where you can delete the installed PC and then re-activate it on install.

If your priror version is registered, you shouldhn't have a problem. The upgrade is a full version. In the past you had to enter your old serial number but with the new version's online acitivation, so long as you old version is registerd the upgrade should activate.

Very similar question, so I will post here first.

I am interested in upgrading to True Image Home 2012 family pack from version 8. I have two serial numbers for the old version. I have not installed version 8 on the PCs I have now.

Two questions. 1 Do I qualify for an upgrade to the Family Edition, ie install on three laptops or do I need a serial number to upgrade on each machine.
2. What will it cost.

Thanks

I think you should contact Acronis Sales and see what they say.

CAVEAT: I am not Acronis, so the following are my own thoughts.

As Acronis don't advertise an upgrade 3pk version, I would think you might be entitled to purchase 3 * upgrade packs or maybe two upgrade and one full, but only Acronis can give you a definite answer.

Colin, Thank you. My puzzlement is that Acronis do advertise a 3 PC pack. http://www.acronis.co.uk/homecomputing/products/trueimage/#promo-family It says upgrade for £23.95, but it is not clear what one needs to upgrade from. When I select "purchase" The pricing is £39.95 for the full product. £59.95 for the 3 pc pack and now the upgrade is "from" £23.95 not "for" £23.95.

If I were to pay for two upgrades and a full package it would cost more than the offer for the three pack set. If I chance the upgrade, but it doesn't upgrade to three machines then, to put software on the other two, it would still be cheaper to purchase a 3 licence pack. I will have wasted the money upgrading.

I would be happy to contact Acronis Sales but they seem very shy and I have not found a number for them that provides information for home users. The UK sales number says it is not for home users. Were it not for the fact that I found Acronis software to be very good in the past I would just move to another vendor. I wonder how many sales a company can loose for confusing and ambiguous pricing and product offerings.

I'm reasonably sure that the upgrade price is for the single user pack.

The upgrade price is for any previous single user version of TIH.

Log into your Acronis account, click on support and then select contact from the panel on the right side of the screen. From the drop down box select pre-sales and licencing, not sure which of the options you should select concerning ' select a question type, possibly 'other' or, 'I want to purchase', then select either Live Chat or Email with the question.

If one of your copies of TIH happens to be part of Acronis Internet Security (no longer available) you automatically had a 3 licence copy

I thought I would share the reply from Acronis Customer Central

"I see that you have two licenses of Acronis True Image 8.0 Personal. You are entitled to two licenses of Acronis True Image Home 2012. We do not have the offer to upgrade to the Family Pack as of now. The cost of each upgrade license will be £23.95. The family pack will cost you £59.95.
