Upgraded from TI Home 2009 to 2010

Thread needs solution

I am using 64-bit Business Vista SP2. After upgrading from 2009 to TI Home 2010, I can not longer consistently backup to the Secure Zone. Most of the time the backup task gives the message "Failed to access Acronis Secure Zone. Possible reason: Acronis Secure Zone is locked by another application." The log contains two instances of this mesage followed by a third error mesage stating that "Specified file does not exist." This message begins with "(0xB03E9)|" and contains two Tags as well. I am considering down grading back to the 2009 version, but I have concerns about how easy this operation might be, and I want the Acronis Disk Director Suite to continue working.

Have you tried deleting the SZ and then recreating it with version 2010?

Thanks for your suggestion. I have done that twice, and it doesn't seem to get rid of the problem. What I am doing in the meantime is to backup to one of my normal NTFS partitions, and then use TI to copy the backup file to the Safe Zone.

John I just upgraded to Ti Home 2010 and I got the exact same error on my Vista portable. I've deleted and recreated my sz a couple of times rebooting here and there, and still no luck.

Wazzzzz up wit' dat?

Well, guys, .... it's telling you something .... don't use the SZ ... there's really no need to do so nowadays.

Thanks for the helpfull reply DwnDrty. I personally like using it because it's out of my site and out of reach for other applications on my hard drive so I feel that the files are safer. Besides it's a big part of the Acronis solution, it should work!

Richard,
Remember if your hard drive containing your secure zone becomes corrupt or fails, it is imperative that you have other backups on other drives such as external or other network drives. You can not put all your marbles in the secure zone alone.

Seriously, take the advice given by DwnDrty, if you want successful image backups, ones you can rely on in a crisis then steer well clear of SZ. I only tried it once and once was enough.
