Using Acronis to make a Windows partition on a MacBook Pro bigger

Thread needs solution

I have a MacbookPro with a 32g Windows partition on it that I want to make bigger. I am running WinXP Home under Bootcamp. I wanted to back up the current partition and then increase the size of it through Bootcamp. Then restore my data to the new, bigger partition so I don't have to reinstall everything. Is this possible? If so, how do I do it? I would be backing up the data to a USB drive.

Hello Dave,

Welcome to our Forum, we're glad to greet you here! I understand your concern, and will do my best to help you.

I regret to inform you that due to hardware incompatibility Acronis products do not support Apple Mac OS X. This includes Windows running via Boot Camp - i.e. if you have Windows installed on a Mac machine, Acronis products will not be able to operate on it. You can find more details in this KB article.

We entirely understand how inconvenient the situation can be, and will surely refund you the purchased copy of the software. In order to receive a refund please submit a web-request. I would strongly recommend you to do it while you're still in the 30-day-after-purchase period.

Please accept our profound apologies for the misunderstanding causes. Currently we're working on the backup soluton for the Apple Mac OS, but still we don't have any timeframes of it's release available. You can subscribe to our newsletter to receive a notification once it's out.

Currently the only way to use Acronis True Image Home on Mac is by means of Parallels Desktop Virtual Environment.  In this case, however, using Acronis products you will be able to manage only the virtual environment, and not the Apple Mac itself. For additional information please visit http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/premium/

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!
