Using B & R to clone SD cards

Thread needs solution

I sell PDAs that are loaded with some custom software. It is stored on a microSD card. So I need numerous copies of the card. By putting the card in an SD adapter I can log it on to a PC as a disk (either using the SD card slot or a USB external card reader).

There are some issues where the card does not always get a drive letter, but I know the way round that - Computer (right click) -> Manage -> Disk management -> find the (unlettered) disk and -> Add.

I can make a tib from the card OK. I can write the tib back on to another card OK.

But then - mostly but not always - I have to reboot the computer before I can write another card. It's Acronis that tells me I have to do it. I can , pull the (perfectly written) card and shut down Acronis. Then if I restart Acronis it spits at me and refuses to do anything. Until I reboot.

This of course slows things down a whole lot.

Is anyone aware of a way around this? When I have written a card, I want to be able to swap in another one and write that etc etc.

Isn't it always the way? I have been busting my chops on this one for a week. Now that I have posted it on the support forum I think I've fixed it.

I write the new SD card, then go to "My Computer", right-click and "Eject" it.

Then I swap in a new card and tell Acronis to recover and all seems good.
