Using CD-R Disc instead of CD-RW

Thread needs solution

The menu for creating a boot disc says to use a CD-RW. I used a CD-R and it seemed to work fine. Should I worry about this? In other words, will something I don't know come back to bite me when the disc is really needed? I did do a boot test with it, but did not try to fully recall an image file onto my C:.

I'm using ver. 8.

Hello JoeV,

Let me answer your question.

You can use absolutely any type of media - CD-R/CD-RW/DVD-R/etc. to create Acronis Bootable Media, it doesn't anyhow affect the software functionality. That CD-RW was mentioned because when the new build of the software is released it is recommended to create a new bootable media too, so it'll require a new blank disc.

Please reply to this thread if you have any further questions.

Thank you.
