View Before You Restore Exclusive
The documentation does not say anything about the advertised feature:
-----------------------------------------------
View Before You Restore Exclusive
This is a precious time saver. Say you need to restore your computer to a previous backup stage, but you’re not sure which one you want. Acronis True Image Home lets you boot without recovering, which means you get a clear preview of what your system looked like during that backup. So you don’t have to waste precious time recovering a backup you don’t want.
-----------------------------------------------
The screen shots in the user guide don't show anything either.
Could someone point me to it please?

Bernhard,
I have an answer for you. It is the ability to boot from a VHD file created by converting a tib to VHD.
If you have Windows 7 Ultimate or Enterprise, you will have an option to add the VHD to your BCD via the Acronis Sequence Manager, that option doesn't appear if you are using W7 Home or Pro, you would have to add the VHD to the BCD of your system manually yourself.

Thanks for the fast reply, however without the abbreviations I might be able to understand this post.
Is this option new to version 2012 or is it part of 2011 too?
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit.

Bernhard,
It is new to 2012.
VHD is the Microsoft Virtual Hard Drive ability built into Vista and Windows 7.
The BCD is the Windows Boot Configuration Data store, this replaced the boot.ini file that XP and previous versions of Windows used. The BCD is a compiled file so you can't read it as a text file normally. There are commands built into the Windows Vista/W7 that allow you to extract the data and view the contents.
The BCD lists all the operating systems that it knows about on your system, how to boot them and various settings to run them. Part of my computers BCD file is below so you ger some idea of what goes on. As you have W7 Ult, you would be able to use the Acronis Boot Sequence Manager to automatically add the VHD file to the BCD, meaning you don't have to play with the Windows command prompt using DOS style commands.

Not sure if this helps, but there are "freebies" available for managing the Boot Configuration Data store via a graphical interface and that may be easier to use than Windows own bcdedit.exe utility. One is available from TUCOWS at http://www.tucows.com/preview/854443/Visual-BCD-Editor
