WDC WD10EALX-759BA1 folder

Thread needs solution

Hi,

What is the folder: WDC WD10EALX-759BA1 for? I have Acronis True Image 2014 That folder contains several Full Images. In the folder for My Partitions, it has one Full and Several Increments - which is what I want. Why does the WDC WD10EALX-759BA1 folder contain more Full Images? Thanks,
TL

This is the default folder that Acronis has created for a backup task, maybe an old one that you removed from the UI, but didn't delete, so it left the archive files.
Another possibility is that you have chosen a reserve copy in your backup options. A reserve copy is always a full backup. If the number of files of your My Partitions is the same number of fulls, it would make sense.

Hi Pat

Thank you for your reply. So, I assume I can safely delete that folder? Thank you,
TL

Yes, you can. Just to be safe, you could consider moving them to another directory and then validate your backup task. If the validation fails, ATI assumes these files are still necessary. Let us know if that happens. Otherwise, you can delete the files.

Well, darn! After deleting the folder, it came back with a different name. So, I deleted it again. Where in my settings can I enable this folder not to show again? Easy baby steps are appreciated. :)

You might have a rogue task stuck in the scheduler. You can download the acronis schedule manager to ZAP all your tasks. This will in fact only zap the schedule of the tasks, not the tasks themselves.
When you hover on top of the backup task, choose "settings", "backup options", in the advanced tab, check that the reserve copy is not enabled.

OK, thank you. Will give that a try. Will post back as soon as I get it figured out. Thanks again!
