What is Imaged?

Thread needs solution

I need to make a 100% copy of the WHOLE HD (incl. all sectors, ALSO the empty ones). If I select sector-by-sector, is that done or does that also only image the occupied space?

To insure a 100% copy of a WHOLE HD use the Disk Mode option of the backup operation. This will include all partitions and sectors on a disk in the resulting backup file.

Interesting.. in the mean time I checked my ATI2013 manual and on page 38 it says "By default True Image 2013 stores only the hard disk sectors that contain data."

Selecting the sector by sector option should do what you want. You will see this as the backup tib file will be the same size as you source disk.
