When might TI 2017 be available?

Thread needs solution

I run TI 2014 under Windows 10 64 bit happily but I do wonder what I may be missing in a version that is not recommender for Windows 10? I bought 2015 but did not like it, same with 2016.

Hello Peter,

There has been no news in any of the forums I have access to about TI 2017 yet, though if they go with the pattern of previous releases, then I would guess at it being produced sometime in the September / October window time frame.

There are significant differences in the GUI between 2014 and 2015/16 as you are probably aware - some dumbing down and reduction in some usability functions such as easy access to logs other than via Notifications.  There have been lots of feedback given to Acronis in the MVP forums about these changes, so don't know whether 2017 will mark a change in this direction or not!

The key benefit to having 2016 is in the support of newer technologies, in particular hardware device support in the bootable rescue media and recognition of newer SSD drives in the standard Linux media to help avoid having to make your own personalised Windows PE recovery tools.

I have been using 2016 for some time now on Windows 10 and it has worked fine with the mundane, routine tasks that I set it.  You do get used to finding your way around the new GUI design, though I still fumble at times when trying to do somethings that aren't obvious!

Your reply is much appreciated Steve. I shall wait until Sept/Oct.

Regards,

Peter

Have some Q

In TI 2017 user can be created realy full hdd backup "as is" - i mean with restore system points, etc... ???

Backup/Restore speed be improved in Ti2017 ?

Caxap, sorry but there is no information available yet for ATIH 2017 and no Beta testing programme has been announced for it.

In terms of your question about creating a full HDD backup "as is" - you can do that today with ATIH 2016 by simply removing all the default Exclusions that are defined, or by doing a 'sector by sector' backup, though the latter will be equal to size of the entire disk capacity including empty sectors.

ATI 2016 see only 4 of 5 partitions :( (Recommended Configuration: System Recovery)

So, i think if it see only 4 of 5 partitions - it cant creating buckup of unsee partition

When you look at the Backup source page in ATIH, look down towards the bottom left side and ensure that you have selected the option for Full partition list and are not looking at the Short partition list as documented in the User Guide: Backing up disks and partitions

Peter, per your original question about ATIH 2017, see the following webpage:

Hi Steve,

As a long term Acronis user I can say for sure that the release of the new version will come out no later than August, at least that was for the last 5 years. So about a month of waiting, right now there are some reviews of atih 2017 eg. http://www.softocoupon.com/comparisons/acronis-true-image-2017-vs-2016-version-comparison.php it compares true image 2016 features vs 2017
