Which software do I need to buy, True Image or Backup & Recovery?

I am not sure if this is the correct forum. I just downloaded Acronis® Backup & Recovery™ 10 Workstation 15 day trial.

I did a hard drive cloning of my HP laptop's 160gb (about to die) to a new 500gb hard drive.

Everything worked good because I was able to boot up my laptop using only the "cloned" new drive.

However, when I tried to restore my laptop to its original manufacture settings (by holding down F11 at boot up), my laptop kept restarting unsuccessfully. I put in my old drive and was able to boot to the "restore" partition.

What did I do wrong? Was I supposed to check the "copy NT setting" option? Am I using the wrong software? Should I have used Acronis True Image software instead?

I am seriously considering buying whichever software that can clone my laptop's hard drive completely including the "restore" partition.
