Why does nothing happen?

Thread needs solution

Why, when I have selected a source and destination disk and tell Acronis to proceed, does nothing happen? Absolutely no indication on my monitor that there is activity, yet if I feel or listen to the hard disks, it's clear they are working. I wait an hour until this stops, then check the destination disk, and it's still empty, according to Windows Explorer.

When I repeat the procedure, Acronis's diagram before starting indicates that there is data on the destination drive, even if Windows says otherwise.

Since I've never seen the operation of this software on someone else's computer, can someone tell me if this is normal behaviour? It seems to me that there would be some message, however small, that tells a user that copying is in progress.

It also would be helpful to know if the newly created duplicate drive is meant to remain invisible, perhaps because it would be a mirror image of the source drive.
