Why does the serial number in my account say upgrade

Thread needs solution

The serial number in my registration account for Acronis True Image Home 2009 says upgrade.  I made one purchase of Acronics True Image Home 2009.  I may have downloaded the trial version an upgraded it, but I did not make an update from an original purchase.  The serial number in my Registration Account is the only serial number I recieved from Acronis.

I uninstalled True Image Home 2009 because I could not boot the system from a CD. That problem has been corrected.  I want to reinstall Acronis Trure Image Home 2009.   The setup program would like my original serial number.  I do not have an original serial number because I did not purchase an upgrade. Please assing an original serial number so I can reinstall Acronis True Image Home Build 9796.

In that you seem to indicate that you purchased the full version and not an upgrade it would appear that you received the wrong serial number.  Acronis support will need to get involved here.  Hopefully you have the documentation for proof of purchase.  Perhaps a confirming e-mail.

An upgrade version, usually at a reduced price, does indeed prompt for a prior version's serial number when installing.

In My Account it says, Registere Products, True Image Home 2009, June 24, 2009, Build 9796; under Latest Product Updates it says, True Image Home 2009, June 30,2009, Build 9796. Does this mean that six days after I registered my purchase of Build 9796 that build 9796 was offically issued?   I have a feeling  someone knew the update was imminent and allowed me to download Build 9796 six days early, and manually entered upgrade into my registred serial number not realizing that without an original serial number I would not be able to perform a reinstall.

Build 9796 for 2009 has been out for some months now, so when exactly did you purchase 2009, and was it from Acronis or via a retailer with CD?

I downloaded from your website. Cleverbridge  reference number 5345251.

Good, you have the reference number.  Acronis support will still have to get involved to fix this.  One piece of the puzzle is still missing.  That is the language that the application is associated with.  This is important in that different languages may have different versions and build numbers or release dates.
If in fact you have the U.S. English version of TrueImage 2009, build 9796 (note that the latest is dated 6/24/2009) then the following applies:

Hello all,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

KCav, I have analyzed the order contents. Let me paste its part here:

OrderID: 5345251 Store: CleverBridge

ProductTitle: Acronis True Image 2009 Home Upgrade

Price: 29.99 USD

So it looks like you have purchased an upgrade. Note that price is also correct - 29,99$ for upgrade. What is the product title in your invoice confirmation? What is the price?

I guess that we will be able to resolve this situation with you if you send me a PM with your invoice confirmation so I can check it.

Thank you.
